Alice will soon be celebrating her 4th birthday and she is looking for a super special needs nanny. Alice has dystonic cerebral palsy, severe epilepsy, a visual impairment and is fed via a PEG and Jejunostomy. Alice can have breathing difficulties and reflux and requires her nanny to have fabulous previous experience to best support all of her daily care needs. Alice responds well to engaging and stimulating people and is a very tactile little soul who loves to have her head stroked and a good old cuddle.
Alice loves listening to classical music and enjoys when the lights are switched off; looking at things by torchlight. She has Magic Carpet therapy which she interacts with via a projector; using her hands to swipe away the poppies. She has weekly physiotherapy sessions which the nanny will continue to implement at home. She delights in going swimming and over time we hope the nanny will be able to support Alice with swimming sessions, therefore you must be a strong swimmer. She has fabulous home equipment which includes a Peapod, Standing Frame, postural seat, physio ball and wedge and the nanny will be keen to support Alice using these.
Alice’s little sister Hannah is 6 months old and the girls have a lovely bond. It is vital that the nanny balances the needs of both sisters and brings a hands on approach to the role. With a new baby due in January, Alice’s family would welcome someone who is also happy to muck-in with shopping, nursery and laundry duties.
The role will be Monday to Friday 7.00am to 6.30pm until September 2016 when Alice starts school. In term-time the role will become Monday to Friday 7.00am to 10.00am and 3.00pm and 7.00pm. In the school holidays the nanny will revert to the full-time Monday to Friday hours. This is a terrific opportunity for an experienced special needs nanny to work with Alice and her warm and welcoming family. Please contact Gillian at SNAP for further information about this lovely position.
