Technical Design Authority
Background
AXA PPP healthcare IT business is seeking a talented Technical Design Authority to provide technical leadership for our technology investment portfolio – within the Core Technology team, you will manage the the lifecycle of critical applications, platforms and infrastructure.
This role requires a good understanding of current and emerging technologies and digital trends, the expert knowledge of one or more technology domains, and the ability to translate requirements/strategy into detailed technical designs.
You will have the opportunity to work with, and bring your expertise to, multiple technologies, such as: infrastructure, telephony, unified communications, Microsoft Azure, Office365, .Net, digital workplace, mobile device management, content management, enterprise service bus, and others.
The role
Strategy and Architecture
- Deliver the development of Reference and Target Architectures
- Align the Core Technology investment plan with AXA PPP IT Strategy
- Align transversal business and technology initiatives (global AXA Group) with AXA PPP Target Architecture and delivery priorities
Solution Design
- Ensure that project requirements are satisfied by the technical design
- Obtain IT governance sign-off for designs
- Estimating and assisting project managers with planning
Technical Lead
- Lead technical work-streams within projects
- Ensure that technical delivery follows the approved scope and design
- Manage the quality of technical delivery
- The ability to coach and develop more junior technical team members
Skills, knowledge and behaviour
Essential
- Demonstrable experience of working autonomously in a large business environment and understand / integrate business and design strategy
- In depth knowledge of products and services offered by multiple vendors with expertise in infrastructure technology domains
- Experience of turning business requirements into architectural building blocks
- Excellent relationship, influencing and communication skills with experience of managing multiple and diverse stakeholder groups at all levels
- Detailed knowledge of the technical and operational processes used to deploy, support and maintain a large estate
- Awareness of the financial impact of strategic / operational decisions and the ability to identify opportunity for cost reductions

- Experience of managing a technical team
