PATHWAY ACADEMY TRUST: Finance Officer Administration - Part-time

Pay: KR7 min £21,297; max £24,230


The Pathway Academy Trust is an innovative and forward thinking Multi Academy Trust (MAT) consisting currently of a small rural primary school in Meopham and a large infant school in Gravesend. As a fairly new MAT we are still evolving to reach our optimum organisational structure, whilst continually providing standards of excellence in teaching and learning and giving all of our pupils a positive learning experience.


An exciting opportunity is offered for a Trust Finance Officer to join our team as we continue to develop and grow. This is a new and evolving role, reporting directly to the Trust Business Manager and supporting the Finance Officers of each school within the trust. Attendance will be required at each school in on a weekly bases.


The successful candidate will:


  • have experience of working in education finance and a working knowledge of Capita’s Financial Management System (FMS)

  • have excellent communication and ICT skills

  • be able to input data quickly and accurately with strong attention to detail; be able to manipulate data on spreadsheets and be proficient in Excel

  • possess a good understanding of payroll

  • have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills

  • demonstrate an ability to prioritise and use initiative

  • be a good team player, flexible, enthusiastic and self-motivated

  • have commitment to their own professional development

You will support the Trust Business Manager in the maintenance of accurate payroll and financial records and the preparation of monthly management accounts across the trust. You will also be responsible for overseeing the finance functions of each school within the trust, ensuring that an efficient and effective service is provided. This is a permanent contract, subject to a six month probationary period, for 18 hours a week over 3 1/2 days, for 40 weeks per year. This consists of term time, plus Inset days plus one extra week to be agreed in advance with the Trust Business Manager in line with operational requirements. As the trust grows there may be potential for the hours to increase.

Information about the federation


The Pathway Academy Trust was founded in October 2015 by the Governing Bodies of Culverstone Green Primary School and Riverview Infant School. These forward- thinking schools based in Gravesham, pro-actively sought to convert to academy status to formalise and enhance their existing close working relationship. The headteachers of both schools are Local Leaders in Education and are committed to supporting and developing others to raise the standard of education for all children in Kent. The two Executive Headteachers share this role: Mrs Ruth Doughty & Mrs Nicole Caulfield.
