SharePoint Technical Lead




SharePoint 2013


My client is looking for an experience Technical SharePoint Lead, to primarily lead and grow the Group SharePoint solution, working with third party infrastructure and desktop support vendors. To ensure it connects and engages employees enabling them to effectively share knowledge and ideas and solve business problems with tailor made solutions which increase performance, productivity and efficiency


Key Accountabilities
* Consult with the business demonstrating the power of SharePoint to solve business problems and improve efficiency and productivity, whilst ensuring it is being used effectively
* Provide system administration for SharePoint
* Develop and present project reports
* Conduct and support proof of concept pilot projects, testing and evaluating proposed SharePoint-based solutions
* Develop and deliver SharePoint training, demos, educational presentations, reference material and proposals to the business and SharePoint users
* Manage the SharePoint security model (access and permissions)
* Manage and lead SharePoint development and testing with the Developer(s) and associated third party vendor(s), ensuring SLA’s and standards are met, including writing user stories, functional and technical specifications and supporting documentation
* Manage SharePoint information architecture ensuring it is usable and aligned to requirements
* Manage SharePoint content types and document lifecycle including records management, utilising the Service Desk Analyst audit process where relevant
* Manage and optimise SharePoint Search to ensure users can quickly find what they need
* Participate in Service Review meetings; areas covered will include performance reports, service improvements, quality and processes
* Ensure the SharePoint and Intranet Steering Group are appraised of, or engaged in SharePoint related plans and activities
* Manage communications to SharePoint site/content owners and users, keeping them fully informed of SharePoint related updates and information
* Work with the Service Desk Analysts to manage storage requirements for SharePoint and reduce costs where possible
* Own, distribute and maintain SharePoint governance and acceptable use policies and apply appropriate controls ensuring users operate within guidelines
* Keep appraised of all change across SharePoint platforms, ensuring service is not impacted adversely
* Assist the Service Desk Analyst with SharePoint service requests and incidents, and help them to develop their skills and knowledge
* Identify, own and manage the risks involved in running our business appropriate to my role, in line with the company risk framework
* To work outside of usual hours for implementations as required


Technical Competencies & Behaviours (Values)


Technical:
* Excellent technical understanding of SharePoint 2010/2013
* Excellent understanding and experience of best practice in all areas of SharePoint – information architecture, managing document lifecycles, content types, meta data and usability
* Good understanding of SharePoint search and how it optimises efficiency (Enterprise or FAST advantageous) * SharePoint Designer 2010/2013 experience
* Good Microsoft PowerPoint skills
* Good understanding of agile and waterfall project methodology
* Experience of working with third party vendors for infrastructure and desktop support
* SharePoint Workflow design and build experience an advantage (out of the box or designer)
* Powershell, javascript, HTML experience an advantage
* Photoshop experience an advantage
