SOUTHWARK COUNCIL: Early Help Locality Lead

This is an exciting time in Southwark and we are forging ahead with integrated working and early intervention, which is a key part of Southwark’s Families Matter Services. We have a strong commitment to support all our Children and Young People to achieve their full potential and we know we can best do this by integrated and collaborative working.

The Early Help Locality Lead is principally responsible for managing an integrated multi-professional Early Help locality team, that supports children, families, schools and early years settings where there are identified needs in relation to child development, increasing parenting capacity, learning, attendance and behaviour.

Responsibilities include the leadership of a team, which provides high quality advice and delivers effective casework with a strong focus on impact and positive outcomes for children and their families. It is important that the work is joined up and that strong relationships are developed and maintained with a wide range of stakeholders from both within the Council, Southwark community stakeholders, private and voluntary sectors.

Your relevant appropriate degree qualification will be complemented by a management qualification and a proven track record in leading a team of staff. High levels of interpersonal, team building, managing change, prioritising and planning skills are essential. You’ll also share our commitment to integrated working, delivering family-focused services and constant improvement.
