From September an opportunity has arisen for a recent graduate who is seriously considering a career as a secondary Teacher to work in one of the better known schools in Kent, as a Teaching Assistant.


This school has been rated ‘good’ by Ofsted in their last inspection. Located in the popular county town of Maidstone and only a stone’s throw from a main station, it is ideally located and can be easily reached. This is a mixed Co-ed school of approximately 1,200 students.


My client school are ultimately looking to appoint 3 serious graduate Teaching Assistants to work within the SEN Department. The SENCO has expressed that to succeed in this school members of staff need to be confident, professional, enthusiastic and dynamic with a ‘can do’ attitude! Teaching Assistant work across both Key Stages with students, not only will you work with students who have Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and ADHD, but you will also support the more ‘Gifted & Talented’ pupils! As an in class Teaching Assistant, your job will be to support the class teacher. There will be occasions where you may work with a student on a 1:1 basis or a statemented student that may be on the Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) hence the need to also be empathetic!
