COMMONWORK TRUST: Education Coordinator


Location: Near Sevenoaks, Kent, UK


Salary: Up to £32,500 pro-rata


Hours: 30 per week


We are seeking an Education Coordinator to lead and develop the Commonwork Trust’s education programme, which is based around sustainability at a local and global level.


Established in 1976, our study centre is based on our organic farm in the beautiful low Weald, with well-established programmes in education for sustainability and global learning, and a particular focus on food, forest and farming. Taking a holistic and sustainable approach to education and the wider world, we deliver programmes that help to develop the whole person and highlight the harmony between people and their environment.


We work with school pupils, students, teachers and trainee teachers, universities, community groups and the public. 5,000 people take part in our education programmes each year and the organisation hosts visits from 10,000 people a year from a wide range of local and national organisations and businesses.


We are seeking a creative and passionate educator who:


  • is experienced in working with schools


  • is experienced in delivering and leading education programmes


  • has a philosophical understanding and knowledge of education for sustainability and global learning


  • has a commitment to our values and vision

As a member of the management team, reporting to the Director, the Education Coordinator will lead the strategic development of our education programmes. S/he will manage and work collaboratively with a team of education staff and will work alongside other staff to develop and deliver our programmes.
