Person Specification – Graduate Learning Mentor
For this Graduate Learning Mentor post, you should be a determined graduate who has previous experience working with children who have special educational needs and will have received at least a 2:1 in your degree. You must have the skills to put every effort into supporting the schools SEN students and be highly adept at relaying information clearly. The new Graduate Learning Mentor must possess the ability to understand others, working closely with them to help them to achieve their full potential.
About the Graduate Learning Mentor role
In this Graduate Learning Mentor post, you will be providing students with the extra support they need to feel confident in the classroom by reinforcing their knowledge in small groups or on a 1:1 basis. In this Graduate Learning Mentor post, you will be following the advice of your mentor, an experienced SENCO, who has a personable manner and who understands how to train and coach Graduates who are new to the Secondary School environment. Students with Special Educational Needs are supported extremely well here, and you will play a part in their success as you help them achieve their academic and social goals.
The School
The school is located in Tonbridge, is close to the station and there is a large staff car park. The school has made some great progress and now see themselves as ‘Outstanding’; the whole school. are awaiting the next Ofsted inspection so they can make this official. It really cares about helping its intake that consists of an above average portion of SEN students and is considered to be a gem of the community.
