An excellent Teaching Assistant opportunity has arisen in one of my client Primary schools for a graduate to become part of the support team and enhance the Teaching Assistant provision.

The position of a Teaching Assistant is so important, very often they play such an important part of a pupils’ progress. The Head Teacher would like to recruit suitable members of support staff who can accommodate the needs of her children both educationally and socially.

The school is based in one of the most popular boroughs in Kent. Although situated in a quiet village location, transport links are surprisingly good.. Situated in an old Victorian building, the school is full of charm! This is a popular one form entry school, which parents push to get their children into.

Ideally the Headteacher is looking for an enthusiastic, empathetic and passionate graduate. If you have any previous experience of working as a Befriender, Teaching Assistant/ LSA or taught pupils with EAL abroad than this would be an advantage but is not essential!

You will be working as a Teaching Assistant throughout the whole school, from Reception to Year 6. In the Key Stage 2 classes, you will be working on a 1:1 basis. This is an ideal opportunity to gain some class based experience, by the end of your place you will have a true idea of what it is like to be a Primary Teacher in a countryside Primary School.

If you have completed your degree this year and you are planning to become a teacher in the near future, this is the perfect Teaching Assistant role for you.
