**Multiple shifts (1st, 2nd, graveyard)**
Currently Available : 2nd & graveyard
1st (6:00am-2:30pm) 2nd (2:00pm-10:30pm) 3rd (10:00pm-6:30am)
Position Summary
Abrades surfaces of metal or hard composition objects to remove adhering scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust, and dirt, and to impart specified finish by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities .
Shovels or pours abrasives such as sand, grit, or shot of specified grade into machine hopper.
Turns valves on equipment to regulate pressure and composition of abrasive mixture flowing through nozzle or into tumbling barrel.Starts equipment that directs blast or flow of abrasive laden compressed air or gas over surface of parts.
Directs nozzle over surface of large parts or inserts arms through glove fitted cabinet openings and manipulates small parts under nozzle for specified interval.
Examines finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications.
Properly records all data required on the shop traveler
Wears and maintains proper personal protective equipment
Clean, organize and maintain work area as prescribed by supervision
Adheres to all Protective Coatings safety and work rules as dictated in the employee manual.

Education and/or Experience
Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
