POSITION SUMMARY
The primary purpose of this position is to ensure timely and accurate filing and reporting of various taxes and the timely entry of various journal entries and corresponding account reconciliations.
primary responsibilities
Prepare various periodic journal entries
Reconcile various balance sheet accounts on a regular periodic basis verifying completion
Assists in preparation and distribution of financial statements
Perform regular periodic analysis as requested to provide insight into variances and trends
Make corrections via journal entry or other accounting modules
Perform all aspects of fixed asset accounting, to include the adding of new projects, Depreciation Expense (Budget and Actual), and Dispositions: ensure all balances are reconciled to the general ledger each month
Prepare journal entries for bi-weekly and supplemental payroll runs
Assist in financial planning process pertaining to payroll.
Prepare and file personal & real property tax assessments
Prepare and file business regulation tax returns and census reports
Prepare and file various sales & use tax returns and reports
OTHER FUNCTIONS
Provides daily accounting support for department to include invoicing and back up to accounts receivable, payroll, and accounts payable
Assisting with projects and document processes and procedures within accounting department
Assists in preparation of audit schedules
Assists in insurance annual renewal
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
CPA or CMA preferred
EXPERIENCE
Prior experience as a staff accountant; 1-3 experience preferred
Experience with financial accounting, tax and reporting preferred
Experience working within and extracting data from ERP systems, QAD preferred
GL experience preferred
