Title: Receiving Supervisor
Status: Full-time – Exempt
Reports to: Distribution Center General Manager
Position Summary:
The primary responsibilities of the Receiving Supervisor is to ensure the day to day activities of the Receiving department run smoothly, efficiently, and safely, while supervising and developing the receiving Team Members. This position works under minimal supervision and must work closely with the Distribution Center Management Team, Team Members, and freight forwarders as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervision – Coordinates receiving Team Member’s duties, assigns tasks based on daily work volume and ensures their work assignments are completed correctly and on time. Manages the filing and storage of all the inbound receiving documents. Corresponds with McLendon store Receiving and Inventory Leads and the Accounts Payable department to resolve discrepancies. Tracks, researches and alerts the D.C. General Manager of inventory discrepancies found from cycles counts to ensure that shrink is kept within set limits.
Leadership – Provides leadership to the Receiving Team, including, but not limited to, setting process standards, coaching, provide direction, performance management and career development. Holds regularly scheduled meetings with Team Members as a group and individually to allow for information sharing and feedback.
Training – Conducts training for Team Members related to their primary duties and responsibilities. Ensure that all training program requirements are met and completed in a timely manner.
Receiving – Assists with the receiving and finalizing of incoming purchase orders, to include specialty POs. Completes receiving tasks using RF scanners or a computer with the WMS system. Monitors Store RMAs to ensure quick processing turn around times.
Facility Management – Reports all security, maintenance and equipment issues to the Warehouse Supervisor or Distribution Center General Manager. Secures and unarms the alarm. Opens and closes/locks both facilities when necessary. This position will be on the security call-up list.
Safety – Ensures a safe, clean work environment is maintained through proactive safety measures, including, but not limited to, keeping warehouse floor clean and aisles clear, as well as monitoring and enforcing proper use of personal protective and other safety equipment and safe behaviors. Actively assists and supports members of the safety committee to ensure that safety is kept Top-Of-Mind at all times.
Defective Area – Monitors performance of the defective area to ensure that McLendon is compliant in the handling of returns and defectives as agreed to in the current vendor contracts.
Other Duties: Performs other duties as needed.
Maintains First Aid and CPR certifications.
Worker Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Two (2) years warehouse receiving experience required, to include the operation of an order picker, forklift or other P.I.T.s.
- One (3-5) years Supervisory experience
- One (1) year Warehouse Management System maintenance experience preferred.
- Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Must have moderate experience in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Must work well under pressure.
- Must have excellent multi-tasking skills.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Must have moderate computer knowledge including Warehouse Management Systems and RF Guns.
- Must have the ability to read and write English and have basic math skills.
- Must be dependable. Due to the nature and responsibilities of this position, dependable regular attendance is required.
