Athona Recruitment is currently seeking for a band 6 Occupational Therapist, specialising in Mental Health for a position based in Kent. This is a full-time, permanent position to start as soon as possible, working 37.5 hours each week.

The client:
The team work with patients to regain skills in community living to help them progress in their recovery. Along with providing guidance on healthy living, therapy sessions and support in managing everyday activities like personal hygiene and laundry.

The aim is to support patients in their recovery with an evidenced-based outcome-driven rehabilitation models of care (OPTIMA). It is built on optimising the 4 pillars of recovery; physical health, mental health, risk reduction and optimal function.

The role:
You will also be required to carry out specialist OT assessments with each service user, using the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO) to guide practice, and develop and implement occupational therapy intervention which focuses on daily living and vocational skills in consultation/conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team.

Essential skills:
Mental Health experience
MOHO trained and experienced
Knowledge if recovery approach

Desirable Experience:
Working within a secure facility
Working within a forensic setting
Working within an inpatient’s rehab setting
