Summary: The ATM/Debit Card Services Specialist is responsible for handling adjustments and member inquiries related to ATM/Debit card issues and/or transactions. This person is responsible for answering questions, troubleshooting, training, and handling member inquiries, performing quality control for card ordering processes, ACI Claims data entry, GL reconciliation, processing of foreign ATM return deposits, processing ATM and POS card disputes, MasterCard Chargebacks and re-presentments, network adjustments, and host/network out of balances. This person will have a comprehensive understanding of Credit Union policies and procedures, EFT, ATM/POS/Debit, network/gateway rules and regulations, and all services provided by the Member Care Card Services department in order to assist members and staff with their inquiries and responsibilities.
In this job, you will:
- Perform all responsibilities in accordance with BECU Competencies and Information Protection requirements.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of all ATM/Debit Card products and services offered by BECU.
- Assist in the resolution of daily problems, including member situations, department responsibilities, and other questions.
- Process member inquiries in a timely and professional manner, within regulatory compliance standards.
- Process and maintain accounts in relation to adjustments and chargebacks initiated by BECU, as well as those initiated by other financial institutions and merchants.
- Research items and coordinate with Accounting for the timely clearing of items in the general ledger suspense accounts as it relates to current job functions.
- Identify and coordinate with supervisor the training needs of ATM/Debit Card Services staff and external departments to ensure conformity with BECU. Provide training and mentoring to staff.
- Maintain a thorough knowledgeable of all vendors, systems, and processes used in the ATM/Debit Card Services department.
- Maintain a working knowledge of various aspects of the ATM/Debit card programs including EFT and network/gateway rules and regulations.
- Ensure the security of all ATM/Debit card plastics. Keep accurate records of all ATM/Debit Cards within the Card Services department.
- Perform all responsibilities in accordance with BECU’s Success Factors and Information Protection requirements
- Have a thorough knowledge of operating rules and regulations associated with all network gateways BECU participates in and ensure processes, procedures, and exceptions remain within appropriate guidelines within these rules and regulations.
- Maintain effective communication with all Credit Union employees to ensure coordination and exchange of information for accomplishing Credit Union goals.
- For the purpose of attaining Credit Union goals, it is the responsibility of each employee to strive for the continuous improvement of processes and quality of service.

Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and technical skills.
- Good verbal and written skills to effectively communicate in the English language.
- Ability to work independently, and as a team member, while using discretion in decision making and sound judgment in problem solving.
- Good interpersonal skills to ensure issues are handled in a fair and consistent manner.
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Ability to handle large volumes and work well under deadlines.
- Ability to present a professional image when dealing with members, management, and staff.
- Ability to quickly understand and implement constant regulation changes.
- Ability to recognize and exercise all options available to provide quality member service.
- Proficient PC skills, with the ability to learn new software.
- Additional hours as necessary to accomplish objectives, goals, and projects.
- Ability to use computer keyboard for extended periods of time.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum two years of experience in the ATM/Debit or Credit Card Services field.
- College level accounting classes preferred.
- Experience working with ATM/Debit card regulations and transactions required.
