PLATT CHURCH OF ENGLAND PRIMARY SCHOOL: Teaching Assistant Teaching/Child Support - Full-time/Part-time

Platt CEP School is seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to work as a 1:1 alongside a child within a class from 8.30am – 1.00pm Monday to Friday, in the future this may become a full school day (8.30am – 3.30pm). We are looking for a successful applicant to start in September but also to attend settling in sessions and home visits June/July.
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about our school vision and who sees children as individuals and values our school ethos ‘learn, care, forgive’. We are a Christian school and therefore you need to be happy to support the Christian values.
This role will involve working in a class, with an individual child who has a high level of need. It would be ideal if you have had experience of working with challenging children and/or children with a range of communication difficulties, however training would be given for the right candidate. We will need a TA that has high resilience, empathy and ability to problem solve, try new initiatives and ideas to improve the emotional wellbeing and academic progress of the pupil. Applicants need to be a good team player, be flexible and have high communication and organisational skills.
Basic qualification in Mathematics and English are essential along with creativity required to support children’s next steps in their academic journey. Computer literacy would also be advantageous but not essential.
