Female Residential Night Support Worker - Adult LD




CareTech Community Services is a national provider of support for people with complex and challenging behaviours associated with autism, learning disabilities, mental health illness and neurological conditions. We support people to live as independently as possible within their own homes and also in residential care.


We are looking for a Female Waking Night member of staff to join our friendly rural Hythe based team in Kent, working 3 nights per week from 9pm to 8am.


You should have the confidence to handle complex behaviours that sometimes maybe deemed challenging and be able to demonstrate a reliable and flexible approach to people with learning disabilities.


So are you caring? Inspirational? Optimistic? And Insightful? – These are easy words, but the real job of our staff is to blend all this to enable our service users to lead a fulfilling and satisfying a life as they possibly can.


General duties include;


a) To assist in helping people with their needs, personal hygiene, emotional and physical, during the night.


b) To ensure the security of the building, i.e. secure doors and windows, appropriate to the climate.


c) To carry out designated tasks as required by the Home Manager, including housekeeping and administrative duties if and when required.


d) To complete all necessary documentation, including night check records.


e) To report any serious accident/incident immediately to the appropriate on-call person, Home Manager, or Area Manager.


f) To receive and give comprehensive handover at beginning and end of shift.


g) To maintain confidentiality relating to residents in accordance with Company Policy.


h) To carry out any duties required for the safety and well being of all residents.


i) Senior night support work staff (where in post) may be asked to undertake the professional supervision of other wake-night staff.


A full driving licence is preferred due to the rural location.


NVQ in Health & Social Care – Level 2, or equivalent is essential.


All positions are subject to an enhanced DBS Check and satisfactory references.
