LITTLEBOURNE CHURCH OF ENGLAND PRIMARY SCHOOL: Teaching Assistant Teaching/Child Support - Part-time

Littlebourne School is looking to appoint an excellent and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team. We are looking for a TA with flexibility, experience in learning support and the ability to contribute to our school’s community.

We would also be keen to hear from graduates who may be considering a career in education and wish to gain valuable classroom experience.

In addition to the TA role the successful candidate will be required to take on the additional role of Midday Supervisor for 30 minutes each day.

Littlebourne is a small, village school with a supportive and enthusiastic staff and lovely children who are eager and motivated to learn.

The post will mainly involve working to support the class teacher in a year 1 / 2 class, supporting some children 1:1 and also working with small groups to support learning. The successful applicant will be sensitive to, and aware of, children’s varying needs and approaches to learning, as well as having a flexible and adaptable approach.

The successful candidate will:

• have relevant qualifications and / or experience of supporting individuals and small groups of children in accessing learning


• be able to liaise with the class teacher, SENCO and leadership team; providing feedback and keeping records of progress and behaviour


• support the social, emotional, behavioural and medical needs of pupils


• Communicate clearly with parents


• Prepare resources and undertake administrative tasks


• Display children’s work creatively

This is a part time appointment working from 8.30 – 1pm each day during term time
