Part-time SEN Teaching Assistant, Sittingbourne

Part-time SEN Teaching Assistant, Sittingbourne

Are you looking for a new role where every day offers a new challenge?

Do you think you have the skills to inspire pupils with behavioural needs and make an impact on their education?

If this sounds like you read on, this may be that new job you are looking for!

An opening at a ‘Good’ school with outstanding features has arisen due to expansion within the secondary division. The school specialises in helping young people who find it particularly difficult to access a conventional school environment due to social, emotional or Mental Health and associated learning difficulties.

Here’s what Ofsted have said about it: “The leadership and management of the school are good…They have been successful in changing many students’ attitudes to school and have ensured that good teaching supports students’ current good progress”.

As a successful SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll:
– have experience of working with students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, whether this is in a school or other child related environment
– have a firm, fair approach with the ability to think on their feet, engaging students yet being adaptable and empathetic to their needs
– have a calm and patient manner with the ability to communicate well with others including Teachers, Parents and other outside agencies
– be a real team player with a sense of humour!

I’ve personally worked with the Headteacher of this school now for nearly ten years. He’s a popular Headteacher who is supportive and shows a real passion for working with children with SEMH which is infectious with his staff. Even those who leave for new opportunities return!!

The role is three days a week (but has potential to be full-time). Your role will start on a temporary basis with an opportunity to become permanent for the right Teaching Assistant. Support within the school is exemplary with therapy, educational psychology, and speech and language services on site. Training is continually available for all staff.

In return for your hard work and caring qualities Capita Education Recruitment offer:
– A competitive daily rate which is negotiated after 12 weeks
– Access to CPD via e-learning modules
– A dedicated and supportive consultant
– An opportunity to make a difference in the SEN sector
