Job Description:
We are currently looking to hire a Receiving Lead for our management team as we anticipate the opening of our new distribution warehouse in Auburn, WA! As the fourth member of our management team, the receiving lead is responsible every aspect of oversight, training, safety, reporting and time card management for the receiving department. As the Receiving Lead you will oversee a staff of 15 to 20 employees who will sort, scan, and grade all incoming books before they are placed on our shelves to be shipped out.


Primary Job Responsibilities:


  • Proficiency in all aspects of the department. The Lead must stay abreast of any procedural changes, WARP modifications, fluctuating production goals, and shift changes.

  • Strong communication skills for training, coaching, implementing any of the changes outlined above, and participating in warehouse management meetings.

  • Time card supervision and time off request approval for members of the department.

  • Strong time management skills; the ability to set and follow through on daily task lists; the ability to train, coach, and guide multiple employees at one time.

  • Mastery of the interview best practices and guidelines to effectively participate in the interviews of prospective employees.

  • Knowledge and oversight of the safety guidelines and restrictions for the department. Effective implementation of all OSHA and Thrift Books safety requirements.

  • Effectively be able to interpret Receiver based reporting and troubleshoot areas of concern.

  • Effectively be able to interface with Operations Manager, Assistant Operations Manager, Sorting Lead and Lead Shelver to ensure smooth flow of book processing from Sorting to Shelving.

Qualifications:


  • Previous experience as a supervisor ( warehouse environment preferred )

  • Strong computer skills

  • Employee relations skills

  • Self-motivated to achieve goals and deadlines

Requirements:


  • Must be able to work independently to achieve production goals.

  • Must be able to quickly assess quality level of books.

  • Must be able to lift 20-30 pounds.

  • Requires frequent reaching, bending, kneeling, lifting, and twisting.

This position is full time Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, and pay for this position starts at $11.50/hour but can be negotiated based on experience. Benefits include quarterly bonus, PTO, and medical plan options.
