Endoscopy Nurse
Job Summary
A new exciting opportunity has arisen at Will Adams NHS Treatment Centre to join our expanding team within the Endoscopy Unit as an Endoscopy Nurse, the post holder will provide a high standard of holistic, evidence based patient care within the Endoscopy Department by demonstrating a high level of clinical competence, the ability to manage and practice within a team and to support and supervise the learning of others.
Key Responsibility
Reporting to the Theatre Manager you will undertake the following duties;
• Providing technical assistance during diagnostic and therapeutic Endoscopic procedures, ensuring safe working practice.
• Ensuring a high standard of nursing care to patients attending the Endoscopy Unit, working within company policies and procedures.
• Participating in the care and maintenance of endoscopes and other specialized equipment, ensuring an agreed standard of decontamination at all times including accurate records of traceability of all endoscopes and associated equipment.
• Ensuring the safe discharge of all patients from the Endoscopy unit while maintaining a safe and clean environment within the clinical area in accordance with established standards.
• Provide leadership for the junior members of the team in the absence of a team leader.
• Facilitate motivation and innovation amongst colleagues encouraging a positive attitude toward change.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
To be successful in the role you will be able to demonstrate the following;
• Able to adapt effectively and positively to change
• Attention to detail
• Able to work well within a team
• Knowledge of customer care
• Minimum 1 years recent theatre experience
• A reflective approach to own work and work of others
Qualifications
• RN/ODP registered with NMC/HPC
• Educated to diploma level or working towards
• Evidence of CPD
