ORGANISATIONAL DEVELOPMENT CONSULTANT
My client, a public sector organisation based near Dartford is seeking an OD Consultant to join them on an interim/project basis for a minimum of 6 months.
This position reports into the Chief Executive of Client Services and responsibilities will be:
*To ensure that organisational change is managed effectively by developing, agreeing and implement organisational development activities that are in line with the corporate workforce development strategy and plan and that reflect current and future organisational needs. This will include providing advice on Organisational Design.
*To work with directorates and services to identify critical workforce development issues and develop, design, commission and/or deliver programmes that will enhance the performance of the organisation and its partners.
*To monitor and evaluate the organisational change activities to ensure the effective development of skills, knowledge and capability.
*The post holder will recommend to the Head of Organisational Development and Internal Communication cost effective development programmes within current budget provision.
*To work with Management Board and Directors to develop and implement organisational change programmes related to current and future needs including organisational design. To be proactive in promoting activities to improve business effectiveness including addressing skills gaps, developing new ways of working and redesigning processes.
*To lead on the development and implementation of organisational change and design programmes and directorate workforce development strategies and plans that reflect the corporate approach, enable directorates to respond to major organisational, legislative, social and economic changes affecting them and take account of future service design.
*To identify organisational development needs related to improving productivity, new ways of working and process improvement. To design and implement organisational development solutions to build capability and increase service effectiveness.
• Working with senior managers analyse the organisational development needs at directorate, service, team and individual levels.
• To recommend appropriate solutions to meet skills, knowledge and capability gaps so people have the right skills to provide effective service delivery.
• To recommend appropriate solutions to improve the way the service is delivered and to ensure its people resource is engaged in high value activities.
• To develop, design and commission and/or deliver development programmes to meet directorate, service, individual and team needs, within budgets and timescales and to the appropriate quality standards.
• To monitor the effectiveness of development programmes to ensure improved outcomes are achieved.
• To liaise with key stakeholders in order to support the delivery of the corporate and directorate strategies ensuring that the implications on the workforce have been accounted for.
• To co-ordinate a broad range of activities designed to maximise opportunities for learning and development. These activities should include innovative and new approaches.
• To implement specific organisational development projects and deliver programmes of development and support to staff that involve new concepts and ways of thinking.
• To commission and manage contracts with external providers to ensure high quality training provision.
• To assist in the management of the allocated funds and report on progress and irregularities.
*To keep under review local and national agendas and initiatives impacting on service requirements and deliver
* To identify multi-agency approaches wherever possible.
