Information about the school
Stella Maris is a happy, family school that was judged to be ‘Good’ in every category by Ofsted in December 2013 and was described as ‘a joyful learning community’ in its RE Inspection in May 2015. We are a one-form entry Catholic primary school, with children drawn from all over Folkestone and Cheriton. The intake is truly ‘comprehensive’, representing the full range of social background and prior attainment.
On 1st January 2015 we became a converter Academy as part of the Kent Catholic Schools’ Partnership. We follow national pay and conditions of employment.
We offer an exciting, stimulating curriculum and staff enjoy some outstanding CPD opportunities. We are lucky enough to be set in beautiful surroundings, with our own playing fields, adventure playground and ‘picnic area’, in spite of being close to Folkestone town centre. We have a warm, welcoming ethos, a problem-solving approach, and high expectations.
Our School and all its personnel are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children. This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
