The Year 5 Teacher Person Specification
This role would ideally suit a resilient Year 5 Teacher; someone who has at least a year of solid teaching experience behind them, and who has also been recognised as being a ‘Good’ or better Year 5 Teacher! An industrious individual will suit this school best; someone who can set an example of good practice and high expectations that staff and students alike will follow! Strong teaching acumen should go without saying, but feel free to bring your creative ethos and inventive lesson plans to the fore here! Sound like the Year 5 Teacher you want to be…?

The Year 5 Teacher Role
As a Year 5 Teacher here, you will be leading a 29-strong class of mixed-ability and very friendly Year 5 students! You will be given all the training and support you need to develop your pedagogical talent and knowledge, allowing you to become the best teacher possible, and will be ably supported in-class by a full-time Teaching Assistant who is ready to help with lesson prep and pupil progress reports! Plan and deliver lessons that excite, get students curious, and that ultimately push their knowledge to new levels in advance of the SATs, and sit down with the lovely Head Teacher to discuss progress and any amendments that may be required! The School
This is an ethnically diverse Primary located in South Bromley, and is best reached by car given its rural location. The school are recovering from a poor Ofsted 3 years back, with changes and a new leadership team firmly in place to ensure huge progression by their next inspection. Academically, last year’s SATs saw 64% of Year 5 students collect at least Level 5s in both Numeracy and Literacy, so the progress here is good and the learning is improving all the time! Given the nature of the school, the new leadership team have installed a new school-wide ethos of respect and celebrating diversity, which has been very positively received by pupils and parents alike!
