An exciting opportunity has arisen to work at the Helen Allison School Meopham an ‘Outstanding’ Independent Special School for Children with Autism.


We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic class teacher who approaches genuine challenges with a positive and energetic attitude with a commitment to providing the highest level of Autism specific education.


The successful applicant will:


  • Have experience of working with students with Autism.

  • Be a highly-motivated individual with a commitment to providing high quality learning opportunities for all of our children.

  • Demonstrate good leadership and interpersonal skills and use these to inspire and support colleagues in order to build on our school’s many strengths.

  • Lead a team by example, showing a clear understanding of what constitutes outstanding teaching and learning across the curriculum, as well as the ability to communicate this to others.

  • Be an outstanding, inspirational teacher with an excellent record of classroom practice and high expectations of achievement and behaviour.

Information about the school


The Helen Allison School is part of the National Autistic Society. We are experts in autism, and believe in helping every child and young person who joins our school to learn and enjoy their education to the full. Our staff develop warm and supportive relationships with student and use their knowledge of autism to help each student to find out the best possible way for them to learn.


We offer education to young people aged 5 – 19 years with autism and offer both day and weekly boarding places.


The main school and 14 – 16 Hub is located in Meopham and residences are at Gravesend.
