School Business Manager - July Perm - Sevenoaks Kent




A fantastic School in Sevenoaks, Kent has retained The Education Network to identify their next School Business Manager.


The school is graded “Good” by Ofsted and is currently undergoing an exciting expansion and as such is looking for a highly skilled Business Manager to be the Headteacher’s right hand person with responsibility for all financial management and administration systems across the school.


The School we are representing is a heavily oversubscribed secondary School which opened in September 2013. The Schools has a strong Christian ethos and currently caters for students in years 7, 8 and 9 They will be moving into a brand new, purpose-built School in September 2016.


This role is integral to the strategic leadership and success of the School and driving forward the plans for relocating across to the new site. The successful candidate must be a confident leader who can function well as part of a team, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, have a “can-do” attitude, be highly organised and have the ability to work under pressure in order to meet deadlines.


The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and forward thinking Business Manager who can support the Headteacher in leading the School and achieving Good to Outstanding.


You will have:


o Sound experience of financial management and budgetary control in schools or equivalent


o Experience of ICT and Sage 50 or equivalent o Supervisory experience of the administrative systems within a school


o An understanding of facilities management including Health and Safety


o The ability to identify, research, develop, cost and implement new initiatives o An ability to secure funding through researching and applying for resources o A high degree of motivation to be fully committed to working in a school environment


o Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills


Ideally we are looking for someone with:


• Experience of supporting a Senior Leader within an organisation


• Experience of leading budgetary management systems ideally within a School


• Ideally an understanding of school management and Governing Bodies

The core hours of work will be 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
