Business Office Manager

Nuffield Health Tunbridge Wells Hospital opened in 1968 from funds raised by the local community and has established itself as a leading private healthcare provider in the Kent region.


We are looking for a “hands on” Business Office Manager. Working in a busy environment, you will be responsible for the management and development of the Business Office team.


As Business Office Manager you will lead and develop a Business Office team to deliver a high quality finance service. You will be a Head of Department within the hospital and work together with other HODs on common projects, implementing the strategy of the Senior Management Team.


Your primary responsibility will be the management of the Business Office team and the delivery of the hospital accounting function. You will be responsible for the preparation of monthly accounts and balance sheet reconciliations. You will ensure that controls are in place in accordance with Nuffield Health financial governance policies and become the in house expert for system processes and compliance. As part of the Business Office team you will be responsible for a range of accounting duties including invoicing, credit control, cash collection & receipting as well as liaising with Insurers and other external customers.


You will have excellent customer service skills and be used to dealing with people at all levels using varying forms of correspondence. Strong communication and IT skills and a flexible approach are essential and you will be used to manipulating large volumes of data in excel and using accounting systems. We are looking for a proactive approach from you, a can-do attitude in order to contribute ideas towards improvements within the department and to be a valued leader of the team.


You will have relevant experience in a similar role and hold an accounting qualification such as AAT or be part qualified in ACCA / CIMA or equivalent. You will have a strong understanding of accounting ledgers and double entry book-keeping. You will have experience in managing teams.


Requirements for Post
Educational


  • Required: Good standard of general education

  • Preferred: AAT or equivalent financial qualification

Previous Knowledge, Skills and / or Experience


  • Preferred: An accounting role with supervisory responsibilities

  • Required: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written

  • Desirable: Experience within the Healthcare environment
