Scrum Master


SUMMARY


The Scrum Master is responsible for continuously coaching Scrum principles to the IT team and driving successful practice of Scrum. The Scrum Master will remove impediments from the team while promoting self-organization and constant improvement to standards of work. A large component of the Scrum Master’s role involves coordinating daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos and other Scrum-related meetings.


RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Perform all responsibilities in accordance with Company Competencies and Information Protection requirements.

  • Organize and facilitate daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos and other Scrum-related meetings.

  • Track and communicate team velocity and sprint/release progress.

  • Mentor and train team members in the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability and visibility.

  • Mentor and train others outside of IT on Scrum principals, in order to improve product delivery and quality.

  • Support the Product Owner(s) with backlog maintenance.

  • Support the Product Owner(s) with internal and external communication, improving transparency and broadcasting information.

  • Support the Product Owner(s) with prioritization and resolution of defects/bugs.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field, or equivalent education and experience, required.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with Scrum principals in a related position required.

  • Certification in CSM (Certified Scrum Master) required.

  • Experience in banking/credit union industry preferred.

  • Proficient verbal and written skills required to effectively communicate in the English language.

  • Full-time hours required, with additional hours as necessary.

  • Ability to be on-call to respond to pending issues or problems arising during non-business hours required.

  • Ability to travel for business purposes required.

  • Excellent project management and team collaboration skills required.

  • Excellent and demonstrable facilitation skills within group settings required. Ability to effectively identify and resolve conflict required.

  • Demonstrated ability to meet forecasts using team velocity and ability to lead more than one scrum team required.

  • Experience coaching others on Scrum principals required.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures required.
