An exciting opportunity has arisen within a well established and highly successful company in Medway Towns for a Health and Safety/Environmental Officer.
You will be reporting directly to the Support Services Manager, working Monday-Friday.

You will have a Health and Safety N.E.B.O.S.H. Certificate
Level 3 Environmental Management Qualification or Environmental N.E.B.O.S.H. Certificate

You will be an effective communicator, fully IT Literate,have strong admin skills,be well organised and a problem solver;able to prioritise workloads and set deadlines.

You will also have good leadership skills and a relationship builder.A team player with a “can do” attitude

The main duties of the role are to manage the health and safety, environmental and waste services on a day to day basis, providing support and advice in line with current laws and legislation within the company.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Providing support and advice to Supervisors and Department Heads on health and safety and environment matters and communicating significant issues to the Support Services Manager when appropriate.
Maintaining Health and Safety and EMS Management Systems, practices and procedures and company safe systems of work including employee training,thus ensuring the teams continued development.
You will also represent the company regarding clearance and processing of waste, summarising waste types and volumes.
Managing the environmental impacts to comply with company targets and preparing annual reports.
