The Trainee Teacher Person Specification
Being a passionate graduate with a determination to start a career in education, you will be ideally suited to Teacher Training. The key to this is a committed attitude, a personable nature, and ideally some prior experience working with young people! If you can easily converse with both colleagues and students, and have the “get up and go” required to take on a training program whilst working full time in a school, then this is the perfect opportunity for you to enter Teaching!
The Trainee Teacher Role
As a Trainee Teacher, join the school as a Teaching Assistant for the first term, gaining an introduction to the school and to the philosophy of the Teaching. As you take on your 4-Term PGCE from April of the first year, you will start to take on a small teaching timetable, allowing you to start to try out your newly learned skills! Gradually move through to a 4-day a week timetable, and soak up the experience as you move through to QTS with the University of Buckingham! Gain valuable knowledge and tips from the school-assigned mentor, and utilise the excellent facilities on site to enhance your experience! Sound good…?
The School
This Primary is one of the largest in terms of size, but being a 2-form entry school they have an abundance of space and some huge grounds which make it perfect for a sporting environment. The school like to encourage a lot of physical activity, and have built a strong reputation locally on the success of their sporting programs! Best reached by bus/car, the school is tucked in to the rural heartbeat of Bromley, and is home to a tough catchment area, yet despite this it is a fun, happy environment where everyone gets along and the students are safe and looked after. Run by a caring Head Teacher, this school is in good hands and will be a great learning environment for a Trainee Teacher this September!
