Front Office Receptionist/Patient Coordinator

Parkland Eye & Vision has been a leading provider of optometry services and vision care products in the Tacoma community since 1998. We have recently moved to new facility. With the expansion of the practice we are looking to hire a new member for our front office team.

The ideal candidate should be dependable, detail oriented, with great interpersonal/customer service skills and multi-tasking abilities. Experience with electronic medical records and knowledge of Revolution EHR and Demand Force is beneficial.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Verify all patient demographic information is correct in EHR


• Greet/Check patients in for appointments/services


• Charge patients out (collect payment per insurance benefits and provide invoice with a copy of spectacle prescription)


• Schedule patients and confirm appointments


• Aid in maintaining smooth work flow and low wait times


• Answer multiple phone lines


• Verify insurance benefits


• Review and explain insurance benefits with patients when applicable


• Obtain insurance/primary care referrals and authorizations verbally and online


• Scanning documents into EHR


• Ensuring low wait time for patients


• Keeping lobby clean

Other duties may include:

• Frame adjustments and repairs


• Dispensing eye glasses

Education/Experience:

• Required – High School Diploma or Equivalent


• Basic to intermediate skills with Microsoft Office, Adobe, e-mail and internet websites.


• Preferred – Front Office Receptionist in a medical or optometric practice (1 year)
