XP Recruitment are recruiting for 4 x LGV Cat C+E (HGV Class 1) Radial Drivers for our large, prestigious client based in Dartford, Kent for delivering vehicle parts.

The hourly rate for your first 12 weeks is £11.70 per hour (PAYE).

The hourly rate when permanent with our client is £9.87 per hour + £2.32 per hour for hours worked between 2000hrs and 0600hrs. You will also receive a £20 per week uplift in addition to this.

Your daily duties will involve assisting the loading of your vehicle in the depot, including scanning cages and larger single items onto the vehicle. You will then be required to drive to each vehicle dealership on your route and access the secure area for unloading your goods, including deactivating alarms where applicable. You will then scan the relevant items off of the vehicle for each delivery before re-securing the area and moving on to your next delivery. Most routes are between 5 – 10 deliveries per shift, although many have 2 deliveries to the same site making it more like 4 – 7 deliveries per shift.

Full training will be given on the routes that you will be expected to deliver to, procedures when you arrive at dealerships and regarding the operation of the scanners etc…

Good communication skills, both verbal and written are essential for these positions. In the event of any issues during your shift, you will be required to speak with the team in the depot by telephone to resolve.

You will be required to start between 0001hrs and 0200hrs Tuesday to Saturday morning (Monday to Friday Nights) and will finish between roughly 0830hrs and 1000hrs dependent on which route you are allocated to. This role involves lone working at night and due to this our client issues each worker with a Lone Worker Device for security.

You MUST HAVE a full Category C+E (HGV Class 1) Entitlement with a minimum of 2 year’s experience. You must also hold a current Driver CPC Qualification and a Digital Tachograph Card.

You MUST NOT HAVE over a maximum of 6 penalty points for minor offences on your driving licence, although a clean driving licence is preferred.

You MUST HAVE a good understanding and knowledge of current regulations in regards to EU Drivers’ Hours, Working Time Directive and Drivers Tachograph Regulations.

You MUST HAVE a good geographical understanding of the UK road network and have good communication skills.

You MUST HAVE a full 5 year checkable work history with reasons / evidence to support any gaps.
