A brilliantly led and rapidly improving Primary School in Gravesend is looking for a Teaching Assistant and aspiring Teacher to join their school as soon as possible.
The new Teaching Assistant will be a First Class or Second class degree holder, ideally from a Russell Group University. You will be in the process of putting together or have completed your teacher training applications and this Teaching Assistant role will be perfect to lead you into this teacher training.
The ideal new Teaching Assistant will have a firm grasp of classroom dynamics and management. The new Graduate Teaching Assistant will have built up some classroom experience already through paid or voluntary work and this role will build upon this. The Teaching Assistant role is available now and will end at the end of the summer term 2017 so you will have the opportunity to build a strong bond with the school and the Year 4 pupils. For a Teaching Assistant who truly excels at the school during their stay here could be the possibility of coming back to the school next year as a teacher trainee either on PGCE placement or possibly as their own School Direct teacher.
The Year 4 Class are a lively group of 28 pupils with varying levels of attainment. The new Graduate Teaching Assistant will be tasked with working with individuals and small groups in their numeracy and literacy. Full training will be given from local University lecturers to assist you in the classroom and give you a strong learning foundation before your teacher training.
The Primary School is a popular 2 form entry school which has seen vast improvement in teaching and facilities in the recent past. The School has seen a meteoric rise in its Ofsted ratings progressing from a School in special measures to a “Good” Ofsted rated school. This is largely down to some bold and fearless leadership and some hard work on the part of teachers and parents.
The Primary School is located near a busy railway station and on major bus routes and for drivers there is a large car park.
