NDT Operator Trainee- 3rd shift - Esterline - Kent, WA

Job Description:

This is a Trainee position in our Mag/Pen department. Employees in this position will learn to prepare and inspect parts in our Mag/Pen department. Hours for this position are Sunday Night through Friday Morning 10pm-6:30am.


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Attention to quality of product

  • Review customer and Hytek paperwork for instructions

  • Process all parts according to specifications and requirements

  • Work closely with higher level operators to complete work and prioritize tasks

  • Sign off paperwork as required

  • Keep area clean and organized

  • Understand and interpret customer purchase orders

  • Make decisions on how to process product

  • Inspect parts per specification

  • Operate and maintain department equipment

  • Create technique cards as needed

  • Give instructions and guidance to C1 employees

  • Identify areas of improvement

  • Provide feedback to production leads and manager on problems and issues that arise

  • Other duties as assigned

Essential Mental/Physical Demands:

Standing for long periods of time in a manufacturing environment. Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs. Use of safety equipment when necessary (goggles, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, etc.). Often exposed to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles. Noise level is usually moderate. Temperatures in the work environment can fluctuate with outside weather conditions.


Required Skills:

Candidates must have the ability to read, write and communicate in English. Specifically, applicants must be able to read and understand written purchase orders and paperwork. Must be able to take direction from others and have the ability to work in a team environment. Candidates must be detail oriented and have the ability and desire to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Required Experience:

Candidates must be able to demonstrate longevity in previous work experiences. When applying, please include dates of employment for each previous position. Applicants with previous experience in a metal finishing, manufacturing or aerospace production environment are preferred.
