About the Graduate Learning Support Assistant role

In this Graduate Learning Support Assistant post you will be supporting teaching across the whole school and you will be receiving support from a SENCO who is your particular mentor. Although competition is strong, the Head Teacher often keeps a few School Direct placements free for budding teachers who are already working at the school in the support team. Part of your role will include leading targeted sessions for SEN pupils who benefit from the extra support in both academic and social skill development. This Graduate Learning Support Assistant position involves leading your own intervention and booster groups and tutoring some students in 1:1 sessions.

The School

This well-liked secondary school is found in Maidstone and is a large Secondary Academy with great leadership, happy staff, fully engaged students and an innovative, progressive ethos. The school is often oversubscribed thanks to the wonderful faculty and great results; this really is a very popular school. Having been recognised as a ‘Good’ school by Ofsted, the Head teacher is determined to carry on the good work of the school and turn that into ‘Outstanding’ for the next Ofsted inspection.
