Person Specification – Graduate Learning Support Assistant


The successful new Graduate Learning Support Assistant will be a highly positive graduate who has a good understanding of how to work with children based on experience gained from a similar role and will have achieved a 2:1 or above in your degree. It is essential for you to possess the ability to adapt your communication style to different groups and audiences. The new Learning Support Assistant will be able to display not only the potential but also strong desire to become a fully qualified and highly effective class teacher.


About the Graduate Learning Support Assistant role


In this Graduate Learning Support Assistant position you will be moving throughout the school to match demand and you will be joining a truly dynamic SEN department Your duties will include working closely with the school’s development team who ensure that all staff have all the CPD they need are happy on their career trajectory . This Graduate Learning Support Assistant position involves taking groups of students of particularly low or high ability in Years 7 and 8 and acting as their academic mentors. Your responsibilities will include communicating regularly with the SENCO to ensure the provision you deliver to SEN pupils is helping them achieve their academic and personal targets. For a successful Graduate Learning Support Assistant, there could be a place on the school’s own School Direct Teacher Training Programme waiting for you!!
