Payroll Administrator, Payroll/Accounts Team




An excellent Payroll Administrator position has arisen with this well-established supplier of contract services. They are looking for an experienced Payroll Administrator to join their Payroll/Accounts Team. If this sounds of interest please apply ASAP.


SALARY: £25,000 as a basic salary, 20 days holiday and company pension.


LOCATION: You will be working from the office in the South London area, working Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm. This is a full time permanent position working 35 hours per week.


This is a family run contract cleaning company that have been established for over 40 years and employ around 700 members of staff.


You will be responsible for processing calendar monthly timesheets to produce site based operatives’ payroll and resolving queries ensuring payroll deadlines are met. You will be checking submitted timesheets and supporting documents to ensure payroll is accurate and within budget – address any concerns or queries with the Contract Manager, Supervisor or Centre Manager.


Confirm potential employee’s right to work using the document scanner, liaising with the Home Office Enforcement Office and completing an Employers Checking Service form (when required). Set up new employees on Select Pay and CMS. Accurately process statutory payments, tax code changes, attachments to earnings, holiday leave.


You will also be responsible for writing and sending out employee welcome letters, terms and conditions and employee handbooks to all processed new starters (temporary and permanent). Set up employee files and ensure all employee information is filed correctly within them. Process all employee leavers including paying/deducting holiday entitlement and produce and send out P45’s. Carry out year-end procedures and produce relevant reports e.g P60’s submitted to HMRC and employees.


Successful candidates will have at least 2 years’ experience of working as a Payroll Administrator. You will have a high standard of verbal and written English and Maths (at least GCSE A to C grade). You will have practical experience of inputting, processing and reviewing payroll, knowledge of associated payroll/employment legislation, a strong sense of customer service and have the ability to communicate instructions and information clearly and concisely. An AAT qualification and experience of working in accounts would be an advantage (but not essential) and you will be proficient with Microsoft Office package.
