Position Summary:
Performs routine maintenance and repair of CNC and other metal cutting and forming machines and similar shop mechanical equipment. Conducts routine, periodic or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment. Uses hand and power tools. Tests, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs machines and equipment. Coordinates major servicing with machine manufacturers as needed. Uses blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, service manuals, drawings, and specifications.
Primary Responsibilities:
Plan and prioritize routine maintenace and repair activities
Distribute daily and weekly work orders to Maintenance Mechanics 1 and 2 prioritize routine maintenace and repair activities
In addition to routine maintenance, perform complex repairs as needed; Monitor and schedule recommended servicing and coordinates machine down-time with production supervision
Oversee and manage inventory levels of common replacement parts, forecasts needs, and coordinates replacement with Purchasing as needed
Review log books for proper and accurate entries; Review logs for patterns that may indicate deeper maintenance issues; Plan, schedule, and coordianate significant repairs
Oversee and train Maintenance Mechanics 1 and 2 in proper maintenance of machines, pallets, tool carousels, and surrounding are cleanliness and order
May occasionally perform special projects; Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills:
Familiar with hand-held tools such as drills; Able to operate drill press, drill jig, mill, lathe, and planes when required
Blueprint reading, basic shop math, General Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T); Familiar with metric and English systems
General Tier II level aerospace machining and assembly concepts
Good manual dexterity with ability to maintain close tolerances
Capable of using a variety of manufacturing tools and measuring devices
Ability to professionally communicate and work cooperatively with others
Attention to detail
Willingness to learn and, as required, help and/or train others
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent
10+ years Aerospace or mechanical experience preferred
