A successful and growing commercial painting company is seeking a Lead Painter for the greater puget sound area. SKIS Painting has been serving Western Washington since 1968. We are a well-established leader in the commercial painting industry.
SUPERVISES: A crew up to 8 painters JOB SUMMARY: Conducts job site walk with Superintendent and review preparation level, job site activities and manpower necessary. Coordinates work activities of 1-8 painters. Prepares work area including taping, masking, patching holes, sanding and pressure washing as necessary. Trains new painters on quality standards and desired painting methods used by SKIS Painting. Oversees and maintains job site safety and conducts tool box safety training and documents on jobsite paperwork. Establish a good working relationship with customers and employees. Communicate daily at a high level to Superintendent, team and customer regarding job status. Provide the highest quality of customer service while maintaining our core values of Service, Knowledge, Integrity and Satisfaction. Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Perform pre-painting job walk for clear understanding of scope of work and material/manpower needs.
- Coordinate work activities and set goals for your team.
- Perform painting techniques in an accurate, neat and efficient manner while maintaining cleanliness and safety.
- Apply knowledge of principles and processes for providing the highest degree of customer service.
- Determine the best method to complete the job based on customer requirements and meet with Superintendent to review work orders instructions.
- Knowledge of equipment policies, procedures, and strategies to ensure safety. Conduct equipment check and ensure equipment is functioning, train lower level team members as necessary.
- Verify materials and equipment and coordinates additional supplies with Superintendent.
- Direct, review, demonstrate, or influence employees in the performance of assigned work.
- Provide Painters with training on the company’s quality standards and desired painting methods.
- Accurately report all work time for your crew and work functions performed to supervisor. This position is accountable for tracking and accurately documenting all crew members time.
- Establish good working relationships with employees and communicate company policies and communication in a clear concise and timely manner.
- Ensure employee compliance of all company policies and procedures are adhered to and contact Superintendent when non-compliance occurs.
- Oversees, maintains and enforces job site safety, completes site safety plans and fall protection plans (where appropriate) and conducts tool box safety training.
- Ensures extras/additional customer requirements (beyond the scope of work) are reported to Estimator to create a change order.
- Monitoring /assessing performance of yourself and others to make improvements or take corrective action.
- Selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when teaching or learning new tasks.
